Scheduling & Appointments
There are several different types of appointments necessary in orthodontics. When your schedule allows we can combine the initial examination with the records and consultation appointments. Braces are typically placed at a subsequent "banding" appointment.
The initial examination and consultation typically requires 30 - 45 minutes.
If the records portion of the appointment is not taken during the initial examination, then a separate "records" appointment can be made, which typically requires an additional 20 to 30 minutes of time.
The placement of braces, or "banding" requires a longer appointments (1-2 hours) and are typically scheduled during school or work hours.
Regular adjustments or shorter appointments are typically scheduled either before or after school or work. If you should ever wish to come to the office during a quieter time, please ask to schedule an appointment during school or work hours.
Repairs (approx. 30 minutes) and emergencies are also scheduled during school or work hours.
To serve each patient in a prompt and efficient manner, we ask that you arrive for your appointment on time. In fairness to the other scheduled patients, when you are late, we may not be able to accomplish your entire prescheduled procedure and therefore find it necessary to reschedule your appointment.
We realize that once in a while unforeseen circumstances could necessitate a change in appointments, or cause you to overlook an appointment. Our goal in rescheduling appointments is to keep treatment progressing and on time. We will do our best to reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. However, in order to avoid a delay in treatment, it may become necessary to reschedule an after-school or work appointment during school or work hours. Missed appointments, waiting a month for late appointments or numerous appointment changes will inevitably result in an extension of your treatment time. Please try to give us 24 hours notice to reschedule an appointment
